In a 30 minute talk at the Consensus Conference, Edward Snowden, the famed computer intelligence consultant gave his take on the state of Artificial Intelligence. ChatGPT has been the rage as of low, but Snowden expressed his concerns that OpenAI is not really “open” and quite frankly, it’s not as smart as people think. Snowden fears that when Artificial Intelligence does surpass human intellect, but makes mistakes, who will be there to correct the mistakes. In the end though, Snowden believes everyone needs to be educated and most importantly, A.I. needs to work for the people, not the private entities and government.
