UK government approved extradition of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange to the US

The government has approved the extradition of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange to the US, where he faces espionage charges.

Assange is wanted in the US over alleged conspiracy to disclose national defence information after WikiLeaks published hundreds of thousands of leaked documents relating to the Afghanistan and Iraq wars.
